Fonio
Fonio or Acha, as is called in parts of West Africa, is the smallest seeds of the millet family and its benefits are similar to those of Sorghum. Fonio has a nutty flavor and texture and is easily cooked. They are harvested within 6-8 weeks of planting and are regarded as “grain of life” during the summer season when there are no other grains to make food.
